As part of the ongoing works to renovate the ground floor of St Patrick’s Tower, opening it as an event and exhibition space, one of the original millstones will be conserved.
Once the working heart of the windmill, one millstone would remain stationary while another rotated as malted barley, an essential ingredient in whiskey production, passed between them and was ground into grist.
Find out more about St Patrick`s Tower on our website via the LinkTree in our bio.

The Liberties Festival ~ 20 - 26 July, 📍
Would your dog like to be part of a new artwork? Have you ever wondered how your dog experiences the city?
@betafest_irl, Ireland’s festival of art and technology, is launching a new strand of programming that asks: what does it mean to make art for someone who isn`t human?
For 2026, we begin with our most immediate non-human companions: our pets.
Artist @gabubabubu invites your dog (and you) to take part in a workshop exploring the city from a dog`s perspective, gathering sounds, stories and sensory experiences that will contribute to a new artwork about how animals listen to and navigate urban environments.
The workshop will take place in Bridgefoot Street Park from 11:00am - 2:00pm on Sunday, 26th July as part of @thelibertiesfestival.
@betafest_irl is co-founded by The Digital Hub.
The Other Audience initiative is funded by @dublincityartsoffice.
For further information on this event or the full festival programme, please visit @thelibertiesfestival`s website.
