Dr. Dunja Skoko, Ph.D is The Digital Hub’s Technologist-In-Residence

Dr. Skoko is a STEM scientist who holds a PhD in Biophysics and is currently developing an innovative biotechnology at Trinity College Dublin. She commenced her residency at The Digital Hub in November.

This residency for a female technologist has been identified as a response to existing research evidencing the gender gap in STEM, and in line with The Digital Hub’s EDI Policy. It offers a unique opportunity for a technologist to work within an innovative startups environment and to engage with a community of engineers, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

Dr. Skoko is a STEM scientist who holds a PhD in Biophysics and is currently developing an innovative biotechnology at the Centre for Research on Adaptive Nanostructures and Nanodevices at Trinity College Dublin, where she is a guest scientist in the group of Prof. Martin Hegner.

Her work centres on pioneering technology that captures high-resolution images of cells interacting with medical therapies at the molecular level. These high-quality images can be invaluable for training advanced AI models that can guide drug development with precision.

During her residency at The Digital Hub, her primary goal is to engage with The Digital Hub ecosystem including companies, innovators, creatives, learners and the local community. She will impart her first-hand knowledge of starting a deep technology business, protecting IP, and the use of AI. There will be opportunities to attend lunch-time workshop sessions, learning classes and one-to-one clinics.
