The Digital Hub’s Learning Programmes Return

With the new academic year in full swing, The Digital Hub’s Learning Studio is back to welcoming local learners from Tuesday to Friday every week for a range of in-person classes.

The D8 Surfers Club who meet at The Digital Hub every Tuesday for the last ten years are participating in a series of AI workshops in October and November. The participants, who are senior local residents, will get to explore artificial intelligence, digital creativity and gain confidence in emerging technologies.

Wednesdays see primary school children visit for the RoboHub robotics programme and secondary school students for The Liber8 Music Project. Thursdays at the Learning Studio are dedicated to the Mindshld AI Digital Champions Academy for primary school students, while Fridays host three classes of the Roblox Rising Producers programme for local primary students and TeenTurn uses the studio in the afternoon for the Project Squad programme for teen girls. TeenTurn will hold their Inside programme at the Learning Studio every lunchtime during the October midterm school holidays.

The Digital Hub delivers the D8 Together Video Challenge online. It’s currently running in two secondary schools, engaging 51 young people in creative video storytelling. The Digital Hub’s most recent learning initiative is Creative Coding in the Classroom sessions, which are delivered directly in primary schools.

The Digital Hub’s learning programmes, both in-person and online, are now engaging just over 200 participants each week, which reflects the strong involvement of The Liberties community and the continued growth of The Digital Hub’s learning programmes.
