The Digital Hub Artist-in-Residence: Elaine Hoey interviewed about VR in the arts

Tech Radio Podcast chats with Elaine Hoey about the application of AI and virtual reality in an artistic medium.

Last October, award-winning artist, Elaine Hoey, began a 6-month programme at The Digital Hub. Elaine specialises in creating experiences which explore our evolving relationship with the screen and digital practices and the politics of digital humanity.

A graduate of the National College of Art and Design Elaine’s work has been exhibited nationally in the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Royal Hibernian Academy, National Sculpture Factory and the Science Gallery, among others. She also has an impressive global footprint, with her work being displayed in Paris, Milan, Bucharest and Seoul. Elaine has also won numerous awards, including the R.C. Lewis-Crosby Award at the 2017 RD Visual Arts Awards, the RDS Culturel Irlandais Residency Award in Paris, 2017 and the Taylor Art Award at the 2016 RDS Visual Arts Awards.

As part of her residency Elaine has curated a programme of webinars to examine the affecting and transformative nature of emerging technologies on the creative sector, and attending to creative practice, academic research and industry.

This programme of public Zoom webinars is presented by the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) and The Digital Hub, and will commence on Thursday, 18th March. For more information on this please check our website again soon.
