Smart D8 on the ground in Dublin 8

Read about Smart D8's range of health and wellbeing initiatives to benefit residents and workers in the community.

Smart D8 is a health and wellbeing initiative located in Dublin 8. As part of their prospective approach to population health – by engaging populations at scale to limit the number of people who would have ended up getting sick in the first place – Smart D8 have been delivering a range of initiatives in the community since earlier this year in collaboration with different organisations and professionals across Dublin 8.

Currently, The Smart D8 Tutors and Facilitators Panel, launched this July, is delivering a series of lunchtime health and wellbeing workshops for companies based in The Digital Hub – from guided meditation and chair yoga to a chess class.

And, to celebrate World Mental Health Day on 10th October, The Smart D8 Panel, in partnership with Inchicore College of Further Education, will deliver three initiatives for the benefit of the students and staff at the College in Dublin 8. The initiatives are:

  1. A ‘Mental Wellbeing Talk’ focused on protecting and supporting mental health.
  2. A ‘Balancing Your Emotions and Nervous System Workshop’ centred on psychoeducation, with a special emphasis on emotions-focused exercises and coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and depression.
  3. A ‘Workplace Wellness Workshop’ to explore the four pillars of mental wellbeing.

Furthermore, later this year, The Smart D8 Panel will also deliver choral sessions to the staff at the National College of Art and Design and other health and wellbeing courses for the Guinness Enterprise Centre’s community.

Stay tuned to hear more about all these new Smart D8 initiatives.
