Sensory Space at The Digital Hub

The Digital Hub welcomes feedback from its member companies and organisations. The Client Services team were delighted to implement an idea from an individual recently.

It was suggested that a quiet space for people who get sensory overload would be a wonderful addition to The Digital Hub campus if the right space could be found.

The Digital Hub’s Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Officer worked with the individual who made the recommendation on what could be done to deliver the best possible sensory space.

The room is located in The Digital Hub’s OneFiveSeven building and is quiet, safe and flexible so that improvements can be made over time in response to further feedback.

This sensory room is designed to provide a calming, engaging space that supports emotional regulation, focus and well-being. It features a Tickit Touch & Match Board to encourage tactile exploration and fine motor development, along with fidget tools such as squishy stress balls and a pop it fidget to help users manage sensory needs, reduce anxiety, and improve concentration.

A soothing atmosphere is created with an Ultrasonic Aroma Humidifier, which disperses gentle scents and moisture to promote relaxation. Additionally, the Aurora Projector Galaxy Star Light fills the room with soft, dynamic lighting effects that encourage visual engagement and create a tranquil environment.

Together, these elements offer a multi-sensory experience that can help individuals self regulate, unwind, or refocus in a peaceful, supportive space.

The sensory space is just one way The Digital Hub can support the sensory needs of everyone.
