New AI Literacy & Disinformation Resilience Training for local schools

The Digital Hub is bringing ‘MINDSHLD AI: Digital Champions Academy’ to Dublin 8 to help primary school students understand AI-generated risks, equip them with critical thinking skills and build digital resilience in an AI-driven world.

MindShld AI is a neuroscience-driven educational toolkit designed for students aged 10 to 11, empowering them to understand how technology, including AI, can be used to create and manipulate information online. Through interactive learning and real-life simulations in a controlled, safe environment, students build cognitive resilience to identify misinformation and counteract malicious online behaviour. The programme serves as a virtual vaccine against digital threats, equipping young minds with the skills to navigate the online world responsibly and confidently.

Delivered by Angelika Sharygina— founder of MindShld AI, named among the 130 Women Who Change the World, 30 Under 30 Ireland, and one of seven Global Emerging Leaders in AI (PIPA) by the French Government—bringing cutting-edge expertise in digital resilience and AI governance to the classroom.

The Digital Hub is piloting this innovate programme with 5th Class students from the South City Community National School (formerly St. Enda’s Primary School), who are attending the five weekly 90-minute training sessions at The Digital Hub’s Learning Studio which commenced on 30th April.

They will be guided through interactive activities and exposure to controlled doses of misinformation, synthetic content, hallucinations, and case studies (including the actions of bad actors), to develop the skills to identify fake videos, AI-generated voices, and misleading information from chatbots.

By doing so, they will not only recognise these deceptive tactics but also be equipped with cognitive defence strategies to critically evaluate and navigate misinformation effectively and develop confidence to navigate an AI-influenced digital world safely and responsibly.
