Flux Courses: Painting the Clothed Figure in Oil – 9-11 August

Join this Flux workshop with Artist, Nina Ruminska for a three-day course, where you will get the opportunity to paint a model (clothed) from life.

Nina will guide you through all of the important aspects of full figure portrait painting. During the workshop, we will explore subjects like:

• The importance of composition in conveying mood and atmosphere in a painting,

• Preparatory work including colour sketches, line drawing and monochromatic underpainting on canvas,

• Colour mixing to achieve realistic, natural looking skin tones,

• Anatomy and how to construct a proportionate figure,

• Developing features of the face,

• How to capture the unique characteristics and emotions of the sitter.
