First Designer-in-Residence at The Digital Hub gets underway

Creating a healthier world for all is the focus of Glenn Curtin, The Digital Hub’s new Designer-in-Residence.

Glenn Curtin has been announced as The Digital Hub’s first Designer-in-Residence and will commence his six-month residency at The Digital Hub campus in Dublin 8 in July. He was appointed following a call for applications from forward-thinking designers in areas such as product design, UX and UI who are interested in bringing their unique perspectives, inventive ideas, and pioneering approaches to challenges in health and wellbeing.

Glenn Curtin is a medical doctor and UX/Service designer from Waterford with interests in global health equity, youth leadership, and innovative design in health and wellbeing.

Using an evidence-based and participatory action research approach, Glenn has developed a curriculum centred on leadership, design and innovation for medical students co-creating projects in the fields of intensive care, clinical research, and surgery. While completing his MSc in Global Health Policy, Glenn will be focusing his residency on the creation of healthier communities using sustainable development principles in the effort to create a healthier world for all.

During the residency, Glenn will be addressing issues such as women’s health, inclusion health, and disease prevention through human-centred design and innovation.

You can read more about the residency in the original call for applications in our Press Centre.

Further updates on Glenn’s work will follow over the coming months.
