Supporting Local Festivals

The Digital Hub supports two important local festivals — the long established, Liberties Festival, and the more recent Culture Date with Dublin 8.

— Space for festival events and activities, including performances, exhibitions and workshops
— Promotion of The Liberties as one of Dublin’s most vibrant and dynamic neighbourhoods

The Digital Hub supports these local festivals with space for their wide range of events and activities, including performances, exhibitions, workshops and more.

The Liberties Festival is one of Ireland’s oldest festivals. From modest beginnings in 1970 it has grown to become a highlight of the summer in Dublin with a series of family-friendly, sporting and community events, and an exciting multi-cultural and arts programme.

Taking place in July, the festival celebrates music, culture, environment, old classics, young people, health and wellbeing and family fun events. The Liberties Festival is delivered by The Liberties Community Project with support from Dublin City Council and organisations and businesses in the Liberties area.

Culture Date with Dublin 8 is a neighbourhood initiative, which celebrates Dublin 8’s rich cultural, historical and architectural heritage while encouraging people who are living, working and visiting the area to explore what is on their doorstep.

It was first held in 2017 and since then it delivers  a series of free and low-cost events, activities, tours, concerts, exhibitions, workshops and more all across Dublin 8 in partnering venues and cultural landmarks, every May. Culture Date with Dublin 8 is an initiative of Dublin City Council and independent creative producer Grace McEvoy, in collaboration with its programming partners and supporters.
