Salary range: €55,000 – €65,000

You’ll be responsible for core finance operations—ranging from invoicing and payments to monthly reporting—as well as supporting a wide portfolio of EU and national funded projects. The role involves regular collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and funding bodies, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial insight.

What You Will Do:

You’ll be responsible for core finance operations—ranging from invoicing and payments to monthly reporting—as well as supporting a wide portfolio of EU and national funded projects. The role involves regular collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and funding bodies, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial insight.

You will play a central role in managing the financial health of the organisation and supporting both internal finance needs and external project reporting. Responsibilities include:

Core Accounting Tasks:

  • Manage invoicing, payments, and cashflow processes
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial projections
  • Track and maintain precise revenue amounts for each EU grant by reporting period, to support monthly and annual accounts and inform CFO decision-making
  • Support year-end accounts and audit process

EU & Grant-Funded Project Accounting:

  • Handle all financial reporting, compliance documentation, and evidence gathering for EU reporting
  • Complete staff cost calculations, invoice management, and procurement evidence gathering
  • Assist with financial projections for each funding stream

Budgeting & Timesheet Management:

  • Prepare and maintain project budgets and staff time allocations
  • Perform annual staff daily rate calculations (EU and SEAI projects)
  • Manage timesheet collection, verification, and filing for all staff
  • Convert new project budgets into annualized hour allocations per staff member

Audit & Compliance Oversight:

  • Manage and prepare for second level/spot-check audits
  • Maintain well-organized financial documentation across all active and historical projects

Additional Responsibilities:

Support the new GEMINI Project Manager with:

  • Oversight of 14 partner claims and alignment with project budgets
  • Advising on financial compliance with programme rules
  • Assisting in procurement advice, reporting, and projections

Work with CFO and PM Cell lead to:

  • Prepare annual drawdown forecasts.
  • Conduct revenue gap analyses and long-term financial forecasting
  • Collaborate on actual vs. planned resource spend analysis using tools like RUNN

Work with HR lead to:

  • Process monthly staff expenses and payroll
  • Manage the administration of the company pension scheme

Minimum Requirements:

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Accounts Manager role or similar financial position
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and strong excel skills
  • Experience in managing budgets, forecasts and financial planning
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to produce accurate and timely financial reports
  • Experience liaising with auditors, banks and external stakeholders

Desirable Skills:

  • Audit background or experience with audit processes.
  • Knowledge of EU funding programmes (e.g. Interreg, Horizon, LIFE).
  • Familiarity with project-based time/resource tracking systems.
