About the Team:
EnergyCAP’s Design and User Experience Team follows a user-focused design process to take features from concept to implementation. Our team of UX generalists works collaboratively to solve problems for customers trying to make a real-world impact on how they manage their energy consumption. The Design and User Experience Team is part of the Technology Division.
About You:
- You are experienced in delivering high-quality design solutions that elevate the customer experience while keeping business needs and technical limitation in mind
- You drive productive design discussions delivering critical feedback respectfully
- You have led research initiatives involving outreach to end users and other stakeholders
- You understand how product design contributes effectively to a full stack team operating in an agile work environment
- Effective collaborator — acts as a partner and source of support for teammates, product managers and engineers while executing on all stages of the design process
- Proven storyteller — focused on communicating the “why” behind designs and how they align to the big picture company vision
- Resourceful — you embrace ambiguity and can track down answers independently
- Empathetic — your passion for the best possible customer experience inspires your work everyday
Key Responsibilities:
- Concept innovative design solutions that meet goals outlined by the Product Team and align to our wider company vision.
- Analyze customer usage patterns and other metrics to make data-informed design decisions for the best user experience.
- Initiate various types of research and translate feedback appropriately.
- Rapidly create design deliverables at appropriate fidelity and present them to various audiences including customers, stakeholders and engineers.
- Work within a design system that emphasizes reusable patterns and components.
- Understand highly technical concepts related to energy management well enough to comprehend the perspectives of our customers.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in design, computer science, information systems, engineering, or another technology-related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in user interface design or product design – preferred.
- Prior experience working with or designing for JavaScript frameworks – preferred.
- Proficient designing user interfaces using tools such as Sketch and Figma – preferred.
