PHP Developer

Xwerx is looking for a mid-level PHP developer to join our team.

The successful candidate will embrace all aspects of PHP development, from setting up docker containers to writing secure, clean and maintainable code.
Our offices are headquartered in Dublin, but we are happy for the successful candidate to be based anywhere on the island of Ireland.

Requirements

• Have at least 2+ years of commercial experience with PHP and its associated frameworks (i.e. Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, WordPress).
• Proficiency in working with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Ability to write efficient database queries and design database schemas.
• Experience interfacing PHP with APIs (i.e. REST/SOAP).
• Experience using data science tools (python, pandas etc.).
• An ability to write clean code with an emphasis on future maintenance.
• Understanding of common security vulnerabilities and how to mitigate them.
• Comfortable using Docker containers within Linux environments.
• Experience in deploying and managing applications on platforms like AWS, Heroku, or DigitalOcean.
• Good understanding of debugging and technical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or Vue.js can be beneficial.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team using Git workflows.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
