Field:Arts are currently hiring for an Independent Creative Producer to join their team.

About The Role:

Through provision of financial support and suite of resources, field:arts will afford the Independent Producer the time to commit to their work between projects and to build a sustainable year-round practice, subsequently positively impacting the portfolio of artists that the Independent Producer collaborates with. The Independent Creative Producer will receive an agreement for 2 years for 2026 – 2027. Across this time frame, field:arts will act as an agile support underpinning the Independent Producer’s activity, planning, growth and professional practice. The Independent Producer will be contracted and paid a stipend.

Each field:arts Independent Producer will be asked to identify a portfolio of Artists* (between 2 – 3 Artists). The artists are those you plan to commit your time and energy to, and to drive the support of field:arts towards, over the course of your time with field:arts. This may be a set of Artists that you are currently working with in a long term capacity, or it may also be a set of artists who you work with on a project-to-project basis but both parties wish to grow the relationship to a year-round engagement. The Independent Producer’s portfolio of Artists will be the direct benefactors of the support on offer to the Producer.

*We understand Artists to mean individual artists, collectives, independent companies or any other formation of independent Artists across all art forms.

Who We Are Looking For:

Applicants must have:
● A minimum of three years experience working professionally within the arts sector, either as an Independent Producer or within an organisation.
● A proven track record of Producing contemporary art works.
● A desire to expand your practice, knowledge and experience while also empowering others to grow their creative practice and potential.

We acknowledge that not all Producers may have a linear career trajectory, and if you have come to your practice through non-traditional means and/or unconventional spaces we are keen to hear from you. field:arts is committed to establishing interdisciplinary and diverse pathways for emerging practice and practitioners; to grow new producers and artists across the sector in a way that is responsive to their needs. We are interested in hearing from Producers who come from communities that are currently underrepresented in the Irish arts landscape across race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and socio-economic background as well as Producers with a disability.

Financial Support:

The Independent Creative Producer will receive a retainer of €10,000 per annum over a two-year period (totalling €20,000). This support is intended to enable a sustainable, year-round practice, working with the portfolio of artists they identify.
In return, the Creative Producer is expected to:
● Develop their independent practice and build a more sustainable working ecology enabling them to support their portfolio of artists across this period of time.
● Contribute to and participate in the field:arts cohort, recognising the value of shared practice, exchange, and collective peer development.

Mentorship, Professional Development & Artistic Growth:

The Independent Producer will receive Executive Producing consultancy from field:arts Director across specific projects and strategic planning. The Independent Producer will be supported by the field:arts Company Line Producer to help with day-to-day producing tasks, the field:arts Arts Administrator on administrative tasks and the field:arts Head of Production with production management related queries.The Independent Producer will also be able to avail of mentorship from field:arts International Mentors.

Peer-to-peer support is built into the fabric of field:arts through the cohort of Producers and Artists. The Independent Producer will become a central part of this network. A regular monthly producer meeting with the field:arts cohort will aid in the sharing of resources, collaborative problem solving, and cross-industry knowledge sharing.

Management & Operational Supports:

Practical and sustained operational support will be available to the Independent Creative Producer, tailored to the needs of their practice and their portfolio of artists.

Governance & Policy Development:

Producers will also be able to engage with a number of consultants and industry experts, both in group sessions and for individual consultancy, including:
● Governance Expert
● Bookkeeping
● Audience Development
● Diversity Expert
● Sustainability and Carbon literacy training
● Marketing Support

Note: field:arts responds directly to the needs of Producers and Artists. The above description gives an overview of ways that the Independent Producer will be supported. In addition the Independent Producer will become a key part in the growth and development of field:arts, and as such will play a part in shaping the support on offer and how field:arts grows into the future.

Through the retention and support afforded to Creative Producers, independent artists within their portfolio are benefactors and of field:arts resources, support and training. All independent artists have unlimited access to a multi-tiered producing support, year-round for a minimum of 2 years through the resources offered to the Independent Creative Producer. Artists are remunerated for any input of time contributed to field:arts activity outside the scope of the above.

● A cover letter (max 1 page) outlining your suitability.
● Up to date CV including contact details, email, and 2 referees.
● A short biography outlining your experience as a Creative Producer.
● Biographies of the artists you are nominating as part of your portfolio,— for each artist you nominate, include a biography and 1–3 examples of their work with weblinks
● A letter of support from named artists, confirming you will work together if your application is successful.
● Format – a written application or short video/audio recording (max duration 5 mins)

Applications must cover the following:
1. Why this opportunity is an important one for you at this stage of your practice, and how you would make use of the supports outlined.
2. Who the artists are that you will include in your portfolio – you must have confirmation from the artists you name.
3. How you match the criteria laid out in the “who we are looking for” section above.
4. Examples of previous producing work that is most representative of your practice.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, 11th May 2026 at 5pm.

Shortlisting will take place by Monday, 25th May 2026 – if an applicant is shortlisted for interview they will be invited to interview on 11th June or 12th June 2026 – interviews will take place online and remotely.

Decisions will be made by the Wednesday, 17th June 2026.
