Post-Primary Languages Ireland are currently recruiting for a Primary Manager to join their team.

We are seeking to recruit primary teachers with competence in a foreign language for a number of roles to support the implementation of Languages Connect – Ireland’s Strategy for Foreign Languages in Education 2017-2026, diversifying, enhancing and expanding the teaching of foreign languages.

Post-Primary Languages Ireland (PPLI) works to implement the policy of the Department of Education and Skills in Ireland of diversifying, enhancing and expanding the teaching of foreign languages in schools and implements key actions in Languages Connect – Ireland’s Strategy for Foreign Languages in Education 2017-2026. This role is being created to manage the delivery of language upskilling support for primary teachers and appropriate resources development which will in turn support the implementation of the new specification. The manager will develop, lead, and manage the team ensuring that an environment is sustained in PPLI that underpins high quality in leadership, project management, and staff support. We are recruiting for a Primary Manager to develop, lead, and manage a team with responsibility for supporting three strands of work in the context of the introduction of foreign languages in the primary school curriculum.

(i) The language upskilling of primary school teachers

(ii) Development of resources to support implementation of the new MFL specification

(iii) Leveraging the Say Yes to Languages module in the context of preparing for the introduction of MFL to the primary curriculum.

PPLI is looking for a leader that will motivate, empower, and support a positive primary team and work environment as well as deliver on the above. The candidate will have a vision for the development of the support required for primary teachers during implementation of the new specification and will need to be flexible in the context of a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
