Camara is a dynamic charity that uses technology to improve education in Africa. Started in 2005 Camara is now at the forefront of delivering Technology-enhanced Learning (TeL) to some of the poorest people in the world. It does this by installing computer labs in schools and colleges in Sub-Saharan Africa and then by training the teachers how to use these computers as educational tools.
Camara's European operations are head-quartered in The Digital Hub in Dublin and its African head quarters is in Kampala Uganda. It has a regional centre in Belfast and is looking to further expand its activities in the UK. Our operations in Africa are carried out through a network of Hubs in seven African countries: Ethiopia; Kenya; Lesotho; Rwanda; Tanzania; Uganda; and Zambia.
Camara Education Liited is a registered Irish Charity (CHY 16922) supported by the Irish Government, The EU and by charitable donations.
