Dublin City Childcare Committee Ltd.
In 2001 thirty three City and County Childcare Committees were established under the Equal Opportunities Childcare Programme (EOCP) 2000-2006. Dublin City Childcare Committee (DCCC) is the body set up with the specific objective of coordinating the delivery of better childcare to the citizens of Dublin City.
DCCC’s vision is to have
‘A Dublin with a system of early childhood care and education that values all children equally in the context of families and communities and where children’s rights and needs are upheld in all aspects of service provision’
The mission directing the work of the DCCC is:
‘To create an environment that values all children, by guiding the ongoing development of an infrastructure of high quality edu-care that supports the holistic development of children in a family and community context throughout Dublin City’
Dublin City Childcare Committee is made up of representatives from agencies working in the childcare sector and is responsible for implementing the childcare element of Dublin City Council Development Board’s ten year strategy.
